Expectations vs Reality

Updated: Oct 19, 2018

We're only half way through the semester and I feel like I've been here for forever.

Everyday I think about going home for Thanksgiving, seeing the chosen fam, and being back in my comfort zone but that all means nothing if I don't continue to do well in my classes before then.

The last two weeks of my life have been dedicated to making this blog to keep motivated because what's more depressing than being in school with no motivation?

DEPRESSION DUH.

So to avoid that, I'll blog.

The weather in Fargo sucks. People always say, "Erianna, why are you complaining about winter coming up, as if you don't live in Minnesota?" Ummmm because I hate the winter with a passion. I swear to you, ever since junior high, I've fallen at least once every winter and that shit hurts! I'm getting old (20 going on 65) and I don't have time to be falling all over the place. And I'm tall, which for me makes the fall a lot longer and harder to get up from. Idk, tall girl problems.

The beginning of the school year (like August) was warm, sunny, I even had a pet cricket outside my window. #Lester

You can read my whole thread about him but it was short lived. **Spoiler Alert** Lester died about 3 weeks ago when it started getting chilly. Haven't heard a chirp since.

Of course I'd prefer it to be a Minnesota summer all over again with no overcast but the reality is, I'm still going to have to get up and go to my classes. I honestly shouldn't even be complaining about the weather now because "it's going to get worse," but here I am, complaining ✨

Thanksgiving break seems so far away but the reality of it is, I have to remain on point with my classes, so when it's time to go home, I can relax and be around people I love but also leave a good foundation for myself.

A.K.A. going to every class, every week, no naps, and maybe even a little exercise (that's the skinny girl inside my head talking). I'm bound not to do something on this list but the first two, I must!

Aww, thanks for reading my first blog post!
